The ACA qualification comprises two stages - the Professional Stage and Advanced Stage modules. There are 15 exams - 12 at the Professional Stage and three at the Advanced Stage (excluding any credits you may be eligible for). The Professional Stage consists of knowledge modules which provide an introduction to the core concepts underpinning accountancy, and the application modules which demonstrate how you can build on knowledge in practice. The Advanced Stage consists of two Technical Integration papers - Business Reporting and Business Change, and a Case Study.
Professional Stage Knowledge modules Each knowledge module assessment is 1.5 hours long and each exam will be e-assessed (computer based), which enables students and employers to schedule exams at convenient times and dates. Application modules Application modules will be assessed by paper-based exams, each which will be 2.5 hours long.
Advanced Stage The Advanced Stage consists of two Technical Integration papers and a Case Study. The Technical Integration papers last 3.5 hours each and the Case Study lasts 4 hours.
